Workshop meetings

Workshop meetings will be held in Room 112 of the Manuel Pancheco Integrated Learning Center (ILC), 1500 E University Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85721.

Located below the the street level, Room 112 of the ILC can be accessed by taking the stairs near the UA Library building (click here for a Google Maps view) and proceeding through the entrance to the "University Libraries Information Commons" on the left. Hotel reservations for three nights (Oct 11 – Oct 14) have been made for the workshop speakers at the Graduate Tucson Hotel, which is located next to the University of Arizona campus:

Tucson sightseeing and attractions

Sabino Canyon – a very popular hiking and recreational area.

Mount Lemmon – the southernmost ski resort in the continental United States. One of the "Sky Islands" of the Southern Arizona, the top of the mountain contains a local ecosystem similar to that of the Canadian Rockies.

Saguaro National Park – a popular hiking, biking, and recreational destination.

Kitt Peak – one of the largest astronomical sites in the northern hemisphere.

Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum – a natural history museum, zoo, aquarium, and botanical garden.

Colossal Cave Mountain Park – a popular attraction about 20 miles south of Tucson.

Titan Missile Museum – a unique Cold War-era museum in a former Titan II ICBM missile site located 25 miles south of Tucson.
